I belonged to a user group for the Apple ][ computer called the "Apple Alliance". I ran it for a few years until around this time in 1989, where Macintoshes took foothold. Even to this date, 15 years later, I am still using Apple to write this web page... 
Although I have updated the html using AI to make standardized templates so I can add content easily without modifying the code too much.
