China Round 2

Friday, May 19, 2006

Today is going to be a walk down Zhongshan Lu. I thought this was just a small strip around which the market and a Wal-Mart are around. But there is a lot of crap around there. I will have to come back and do a more detailed map of the area. There is a lot of resources here, both big mall, and small shops of all types here.

I tried looking for the CD store which was right by Mizulu Square but that closed or moved. The Europaer Restaurant also closed and moved. It looks like the area is going through some major upgrades so things are getting shifted around.

We when searching for that musical concert for my mom, Snow Wolf Lake but all we found was the music CD, not the DVD or VCD.

This is a picture of me standing in front of the Chairman Mau statue in Zhongshan Lu Square. The square as shown in the background is pretty much a three lane traffic circle with 5 roads leading in and out of it. Now as you can see here there is NO traffic lights and NO pedistrian lights. So unless you want to walk all the way around the outside of this traffic circle to get to the other side, you have to use the pedistrian walk with NO walk light. So think, you have 5 feeders for 3 lanes of traffic full of moving cars and buses. Now think of how much fun it would be to cross three lanes of traffic where the traffic won't stop for you. This is just like a live version of Frogger. And after 3 lanes, you are only at the centre of the traffic circle, you still have another 3 lanes to leave the circle at the other side.

The Experimental Chinese Food Of The Day is:
Wahaha Nectarine Drink

This drink is a nectarine drink. Not much is on the bottle other than the web page www.Wahaha.com.cn.

It does taste like nectarines although it somehow tastes watered down so it maybe from concentrate. Other than that, I have no complaints about it. It has a sweet taste to it and is refreshing when cold. It is worth trying.
