China Round 2

Tuesday, May 2, 2006

Today is going to be a day of doing house things. First was to visit Ami's parents for eat lunch, give gifts, and get Alexanderia.

Then a big shopping trip at Carre Four. It was about a 400 yuan trip, which was enough to fill a cart. Of course, most of it was junk food like chips and candy and pop, but there was some essential things like beef, sausauges, milk, bread and cheese. Since fruit is really cheap here, I a going to take advantage of that and get a good fill of snacking on grapes, pine apples, watermelons and strawberries while I am here and while those are going to be in season now.

At back at home, it was a big laundry day, since we had Alexanderia's weeks of clothes as well as all our clothes from Shanghai to do. I also begin putting together all these pictures from Shanghai. It is over a gig of pictures, done in highest resolution on the Canon S400 which is set a 4.0 MegaPixels.

I will also start a special feature when I am here in Shenyang. It is going to be the experimental Chinese food of the day. In an attempt to try more Chinese foods, I will review a new food everyday. It may or may not prevent you from getting yourself poisoned next time you see something strange.

The Experimental Chinese Food Of The Day is:
Lay's Potato Chips - International Flavour - Mexican Tomato Chicken

Well, a potato chip is a potato chip. When in comes from a name like Lay's it isn't much different from the Canda than it is in Japan than it is in China. However, in the Canada, we don't try to make our potato chips taste like meats. Ok, maybe Barbeque sauce or Ranch Dressing maybe but not like chicken or beef flavoured chips. So I was curious about this.

Well, for starters, I thought this might be hot and spicy like some Mexican Chili or flaming taco. Well no. This chip is so limp on flavour I think even Canadian Tomato Ketchup flavour is stronger than this stuff. There is no hot and spicy feeling. Heck, I can't even taste the chicken. I am getting is a watered down tomato tingle.

In my opinion, don't waste your money on this. You are better off buying regular flavour Lay's chips and dipping in your own flavour dip.
