It gets really confusing what is for what and what all the terms are. For newbie people like myself, following a maze of forum histories and posts along with a ever growing list of glossary terms makes it a task in itself. So, I will volunteer to build/compile this FAQ of methods, and their success. I do not take any credit for the information written in this FAQ as this information is not written by me. I just simply compiled and organized posted information on this game in a (hopefully) more understandable format so other newbie DOAx gamers like myself, don't have to go through what I just to get a leg up on this great game. Please feel free to email me for corrections and your comments. Method 1: Fuzzy's Golden Method Objective: To put ANY swimsuit on to any girl. Hypothesis: To make use of Fast Rising Notes (FRN) indicator to know when to give the target suit else use Plan B. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: March 12, 2003 #2790 Procedure: I. SET UP: ---------- As an example of the scenario, we will be using Lisa since she is the only one that can buy the venus, and Hitomi as our reluctant target. So in this method, Lisa IS the target gift giver. Hitomi IS the target receiver girl. You can replace Lisa and Hitomi's names with who ever you are working to make things easier if you like. I will also label our target gift girl as GIRL A and our target receiver girl is labelled GIRL B. (thus LISA is GIRL A and Hitomi is GIRL B.) a) Setting up the giver of your goal swimsuit: GIRL A ------------------------------------------------------ - First you will have to purchase 12 love items (14 if using a hard target) to eventually give to your target receiver girl (GIRL B). If you feel confident that you will be able to purchase some of these in your main vacation, then you will only need 8 love items in advance. (see glossary below for known love items) - Purchase 3 of the same goal swimsuits (example: 3 Venus's) You may buy these before or during your main vacation - it's up to you but chances are the sport shop might not have your goal suit for sale during your one vacation. b) Setting up your target girl (receiver of the goal swimsuit): GIRL B: -------------------------------------------------------- - Empty 20 inventory squares - buy 9 love items to eventually give to your gift giver girl [GIRL A] (in case you need to go to plan B) II. BEGINNING MY METHOD: ------------------------------ Day 1 -- ---- a) Start a new vacation as the gift giving girl, GIRL A. b) Turn down the offer for an Island tour. You can accept the offer as long as Lisa is not your receiver girl (GIRL B) or Tina is not your receiver girl (GIRL B) when you are playing as Lisa as your gift giving girl (GIRL A). c) Do not partner with your target girl (GIRL B) but you do need a partner to play volleyball with. Try to pick a girl who already likes you since you need a partner for volleyball by day 2. Lets call your partner (GIRL C), most likely will be Lisa as long as Lisa is not your receiver girl (GIRL B). If you playing as Lisa as the gift giver (GIRL A), then Tina can be your partner (GIRL C) as long as she is not your intended gift receiver (GIRL B) as well. d) Purchase cheap suits to your intended partner (GIRL C) (relationship result is close to giving a love gift) e) If you do partner up on day 1, play a game of volleyball on day 1. Day 2 ------ a) Gift 1 love item to your target girl (GIRL B) in person (on the beach, in jungle, etc.) if available on day 2. (please read the observation section for tips on Christie, Ayane and Helena. ) b) YOU MUST play 1 game of v-ball on day 2. c) Your target girl (GIRL B) must be at fast rising notes by the end of day 2 or you should restart or add an additional day before gifting your goal swimsuit to your target girl (GIRL B) Use your previously purchased love gifts & gift your target girl in person & if needed in the hotel as many times as is needed to make this happen. If target girl is not at fast rising notes by the end of day 3 - YOU MUST START OVER AGAIN. DAY 3 to DAY 9: ---------------- EVERYDAY YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING: a) Give your target girl (GIRL B) 1 love gift in person (on beach, in jungle, etc.) if available. (Do NOT give gifts to your target girl in the hotel at this point in the vacation!) b) Play 1 game of v-ball. Try to win, don't panic if you don't. c) You must also keep your partner (GIRL C) happy through all of this - easiest way is to gift your partner a cheap swimsuit in the hotel at night when needed. d) If you have done this correctly your target girl (GIRL B) will be at level 2 fast rising notes by day #9 evening (assuming everything was also done as stated by day #2 evening (above) - if not, continue on as you have been doing for an additional day & do what is stated below on day 11 instead of day 10). Day 10 (or 11 if you don't have L2FRN) - ---------------------------------- a) On day 10 give your target girl (GIRL B) your goal swimsuit - Do not gift Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot or the suit will be tossed. b) Give target girl (GIRL B) a love gift in the next timeslot if possible (this will help to see if she is wearing your goal swimsuit & get her notes rising again) c) If target girl (GIRL B) is, you can continue on as stated above & your target girl (GIRL B) may again reach level 2 rising notes on day 14 & thus, you can give her a different goal swimsuit (however, this is not a guarantee). d) If target girl (GIRL B) is not wearing your goal swimsuit, it will probably 90% chance get trashed so look for a message of the suit being trashed in the hotel that night. e) Gift a love item during day 10 evening if you are unsure or if you were unable to check on acceptance. I suppose it really doesn't hurt. f) If there is no trashed message - the suit was accepted. SUCCESS!!!! g) If there is a trashed message then you will start preparing to use plan B. PLAN B: ---------- Day 11 (or day 12) -------------------- a) Only gift your target girl (GIRL B) as stated below. Do NOT give any gifts to any other girl including your partner (GIRL C). b) You will no longer have to play v-ball if you choose not to. c) Find your target girl (GIRL B) & personally gift her another one of your goal swimsuits (2nd one from the 3 you had previously purchased.) d) Find your target girl (GIRL B) again & personally gift a love gift in the next available timeslot if possible to check to see if she is wearing it. e) If target girl (GIRL B) is wearing it, SUCCESS!! You can for give her some more love items to bring her FRN back up again if you want. f) If target girl (GIRL B) is not wearing it - look for trashed message in the hotel. g) If suit was trashed - gift your target girl (GIRL B) a love gift in the hotel. Day 12 (or day 13) -- ---------------- a) repeat the same steps as you did in Day 11 with the third of the three swimsuits you bought previously. b) If it gets accepted, SUCCESS!!!! c) If the third suit is trashed this evening. d) Finish the fourteenth day the vacation. Don't need to gift any presents or play any volleyball if you don't want to. e) Continue the game with the next vacation. f) Proceed with this second vacation as follows: Vacation 2 : Day 1 - ----------------- a) Start next vacation as your target girl (GIRL B) & TURN DOWN THE ISLAND TOUR. b) Find your original gift giver girl (the girl who you just played as previously) [GIRL A] on the beach & give a love item (one of the 9 which you had bought previously). c) Give as many love items as is necessary to get your original gift giving girl (GIRL A) to fast rising music notes (may take more than 1 day depending on the girls that you have chosen). If she doesn't show up in person for you to give the gift to, resort to giving a gift at the hotel. d) Ask your original gift giving girl (GIRL A) to partner with you. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU PARTNER IN THE EVENING TIMESLOT - YOU MUST PLAY 3 DAYS OF V-BALL INSTEAD OF THE 2 LISTED BELOW & GIVE LOVE GIFTS DURING EACH OF THESE EVENINGS AS WELL AS THE ONE YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN. e) Win all available v-ball games this day & give a love gift to your original gift giving girl (now your partner) [GIRL A] in the hotel. f) Clear out your inventory - transfer what you are missing into your collection & throw the rest out. Vacation 2 : Day 2 & 3 (maybe 4) ------------------ ------------- a) Win 2 games of v-ball (morning & daytime) b) Do the pool hop for the third time slot every day c) Give love gift to your original gift giving girl (who is now your partner) [GIRL A] at the hotel. d) You may have to repeat this till day 4 if you partnered in the evening timeslot as mentioned above in day 1. Vacation 2 : Day 4 (or 5) --------- -------------- a) Rest at the pool in all timeslots today. b) IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DO NOT EVEN MOVE OFF OF THE PICTURE OF THE POOL, AS THIS WILL RESET THIS GLITCH (ON DAY 4 WHEN ZACK'S OPENS - GO TO THE POOL & DO AS STATED ABOVE - DO NOT ENTER ZACK'S OR THE GLITCH WILL RESET, ALSO DO NOT GO TO THE CASINO AT NIGHT OR THE GLITCH WILL RESET. c) Do NOT pool hop! You MUST select rest to force your partner to start giving you swimsuits. This is known as the "The Glitch", "The Loop Hole", etc... d) You can skip the resting movie by pressing your "a" button. e) At nighttime, you may receive your suit that was trashed three times in vacation 1. f) Your target swimsuit may not be your first gift received nor does it have to be the first swimsuit received g) If you don't receive your target suit, continue resting for the next days until you get it. h) Don't give any gifts to your partner [GIRL A] (in this Plan B) beyond the 3 days of volleyball playing or you will be negatively affecting your outcome. The reason is that (with the exception being Kasumi's fortune telling garbage) once your partner really likes you, if you stop giving her gifts she will believe that you are looking elsewhere for a new partner & will begin giving you gifts to keep you - by giving her gifts after this period of 3 v-ball days, you are saying "Please stay my partner - I need you" - & thus negatively affecting the gifts which she would have given to you if she believed that you did not need her. *** End of Procedure Observations: a) Ayane or Helena as a target or a partner: ---------------------------------------------------- Give a gift (love gift if target or cheap swimsuit if partnering with) in every timeslot (including the morning) & in the hotel untill notes are rising quickly. If using one of them as your target, return to the method as posted above or if using as your partner, ask them to partner up - never ask to partner in the morning timeslot (return to method as posted above after partnering). b) Christie: ------------ When using Christie as your target girl or as your partner - Give 1 gift in person ( Love gift if she is your target or a cheap swimsuit if she is going to be your partner) & 1 gift in the hotel at night until she has quick rising notes (she hates to be visited more than once a day in person). Once notes are rising quickly return to the method as posted or ask to partner up & then return to method as posted. Questions & Answers & Theories: a) Cheap Swimsuits instead of Love Items? Although in this method, you can give the cheap suits to your partner, you can not gift give the cheap suits to your target girl. This doesn't have the same effect as a love item and it eliminates any use of the Plan B if needed. But otherwise, the best gifts that you can give are likeable suits, cheap or otherwise... The easiest way to get notes rising is by gifting swimsuits. In my experience a swimsuit is twice as effective as gifting love items or nail polish. However, don't gift any swimsuits after you have gifted your first target suit after day 9 since that will wreck the Plan B. b) Gifting Christie twice in one day? Rule of thumb is Christine really doesn't like to visited twice in a day. But... since you just gave her the evil suit, she will have already lost all her notes anyways, she can't lose anymore, thus it can't hurt to gift her again anyways. It is entirely up to you. There is a growing belief that Tina has the same challenge, so you may want to watch out for her too. c) Playing Volleyball Against Your Target Girl? You can play against your target if you are using THIS method. Other methods like the Fuzzy Advanced Method (see later on), it is NOT recommended to play against the target. The reason why it is not a good idea in the advanced method is because you are only using 4 gifts to get your girl to level 2 fast notes & some girls hate to lose in volleyball, which in turn will decrease your notes from level 2 fast to level 1 fast without you realizing that this has taken place. d) What if I can't check if the target girl is wearing the goal suit? If the target doesn't show up again for the rest of the day so you can give her another love item to check to see if she is wearing it, then you could give her a gift that night through the hotel. I suppose it can't hurt... e) Can the gift giving be sped up by giving 2 presents a day? It theory it would but game seems to prevent you from getting to Level 2 fast notes until day 7 no matter what you do. Playing 1 volleyball game and gifting a love gift each day, seems to be the trick. f) I am playing so much volleyball, it seems to get tougher and tougher as the days go by. Why? I think your volleyball games are getting harder because of fatigue, not the actual game itself. I didn't find the A.I. getting tougher until I was completing my 8th collection. Try pool hopping to beat the over tiredness. You might also go to Jack's and grab something to drink. g) How much volleyball do I need to play for Plan B? For the most part, Plan B should work by evening #3. You will find that partnering & playing volleyball is only truly needed for the tougher girls to gift. h) My target girl is gifting me items and swimsuits. Do I have to wear them? Should I even care? Does it affect how I play volleyball? The swimsuit that you wear definitely has an affect on your volleyball game performance. The volleyball however, does not. You get a performance boost for each matching accessory that matches your swimsuit & an additional boost for your suit & accessories being in your girl's favorite color. You lose this boost if you wear the suit for multiple days in a row & if your partner is wearing the same suit as your girl. Keep in mind though that some girls dislike certain accessories even though the accessory may be in their favourite color (example: Lisa dislikes all hairclips - including the red butterfly hairclip - she plays better wearing visors (red one especially)). If you wear a nail polish that does not match your suit, you will get a decrease in performance - so either never wear nail polish or wear your favourite color & always change suits & accessories to match this color. Lastly, there are various accessories which the girls will play extremely well in even though they aren't remotely even close to their favorite color. A good example of this is the green & yellow hat - there are 3 girls who perform extremely well when wearing this hat. So don't be closed off to trying other accessory / swimsuit combinations. You should switch suits & accessories every evening in the hotel for the next day & thus you will always stay boosted. Take care that you don't trash any of the gifts that you got gifted this vacation, since that will affect the gift giver's mood. If it is Zack, who cares.... It does not matter what the target girl is wearing - contrary to popular belief, this does not increase success. i) Wow, 3 hated suits that gets trashed? That can get expensive! Can you do it with just one? Unfortunately Plan B's glitch works best with 3 swimsuits. If you choose to go the 1 suit attempt for Plan B try & give the suit on day 14 & do not give any swimsuit gifts to anyone else during the vacation which you are trying this. All you need for Plan B is to begin gifting your goal swimsuits on or after day 10. That's 4 swimsuits trashed (on separate days) will net you a 97% success rate, 3 trashed will average a 90% success rate, 2 trashed will average a 45% success rate, 1 trashed will get you success roughly 15% of the time. j) Since fast rising notes (FRN) are so important, what is the key elements for getting it raised up ? And the things that screw up the FRN? The key to this note level is the combination of gifting in person & playing volleyball everyday. The screwballs, of this note level are: 1) giving gifts to your target in the hotel, 2) giving gifts to your target non love gifts 3) giving the goal swimsuit on the same day that you reach L.2.F.R.N.'s, 4) giving any other gifts to your target after reaching this note level (and before you gift the goal swimsuit), 5) Kasumi's possible fortune telling, 6) Giving gifts to Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot. k) Is there a certain combination of factors that will get L2FRN quickly? Does it depend on the girl? With Hitomi, to get to L.2.F.R.N.'s I have to play & win 5 games of volleyball, gift 3 love items & gift 2 likeable swimsuits without hotel gifting. I have found that it does not matter if I play 3 games of volleyball in one day & gift 3 love items the next day - just as long as these numbers are attained in some way. By doing this, I can achieve L.2.F.R.N.'s every single time. In some vacations I can get all of this to happen by the end of day 4, in which case it only takes 1 or 2 more likeable swimsuits to get her back up to L.2.F.R.N.'s again. When I filled Christie's collection it took gifting Black Nailpolish to get her to where she opened gifts in front of me & then it took the gifting of 4 likeable swimsuits (never from the hotel) & winning 4 volleyball games to get her to L.2.F.R.N.'s. l) This method is good for hated suits. What if I was just trying to give disliked suits? What do I need to do? Most disliked swimsuits can successfully be transferred the day AFTER you spot the following note level, where you see 2 notes rising quickly with a side to side motion to them. This is the level just before L.2.F.R.N.'s & is very easy to get to. Do not gift Ayane or Helena in a morning timeslot. It is possible to transfer multiple disliked swimsuits inside of one vacation - my record is currently 14 while using Christie & gifting disliked swimsuits to a multiple of girls inside of the same vacation. m) What is the deal with nail polish? It is one of the little known tricks in the book. In general, it is only suppose to be a like item not a love item. But for some strange reason, it works really well for Christie. It is cheap and you can buy lots of it, and it is a good way to raise those notes. Christie - Black Helena - White Lisa - Red Ayane - Purple I was targeting Ayane. I gave her nail polish for five days, and got her to what I figured was the right notes. I went to her the next day in the daytime, gave her the Venus, and she said, "You have bad taste", so I figured she would trash it. I gave her a love gift in the next time slot, and she was wearing the Venus! On day 7! n) Ok, target suit was accepted in Plan A, what do I do to get target girl back up to L2FRN so that I can attempt to dump another hard suit on her? The gifting of likeable swimsuits will get your target back up to L.2.F.R.N.'s faster than anything else (in most cases within one or two suits - thus getting you back to where you need to be that same day or at the very latest the next day). o) When gifting liked swimsuits, do they all have to be different to be accepted? As for which suits work best - if a girl doesn't dislike the suit it will work. You can even regift the same suit over & over again (alternating between 4 or more different suits will yield the best result, example; gift 4 cheap suits in order 1,2,3,4 & then repeat 1,2,3,4 etc.) p) Does the glitch work to gift another girl different from the previous target recipient girl? For example, Lisa (gift giver) you gift Ayane (target girl) a Venus but she trashes it. Afterwards you play as Hitomi (different target girl) and treat Lisa (original gift giver) to your Plan B... Could Hitomi be gifted the venus? Answer: No, you can't. ----- ------------------------------------------------ Method 2: Super Fuzzy Method Objective: Make a girl accept a number of hated suits without depending on a faulty love items list. Hypothesis: Pass off a number of suits within one vacation. May not work for every suit or every person but it has a fair success rate nevertheless. This will reduce the amount of time and the amount of Zack bucks to fill up your collection. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: Mar 11, 2003 #2774 Procedure: Day 1 ----- a) Clear out 25 inventory boxes in your target girl's inventory. b) Start a new vacation as the gift giver girl. c) Do NOT partner with your target girl. d) Go to the Sports Shop and buy some of the cheapest swimsuits to be used as gifts for your target girl and your volleyball partner. The pluses to this are many. The shop is always open and on all days. Money is the only limitation on the number of suits you can buy. A cheap swimsuit also has an effect close to a love item. e) Start gifting the girl you want to be your partner (must NOT be the girl you are buying the target suits for). f) Once your partner girl is up to quick rising notes, then ask her to partner up. Oh, see Christie as needs a different approach. g) Use cheap suits to keep your partner happy only as needed at the hotel because the partnership must last until your goal suit has been given. Day 2 to 13 --------- -- a) If you haven't partnered up yet, keep giving swimsuits to get your partner to rising notes. Partner up with her in the daytime. b) If you already have a partner, begin the process of every day for the entire vacation, you will gift in person (never at the hotel), one cheap swimsuit per once per day. Note: Don't gift Ayane or Helena in the morning time slot. h) Every other day, you will play a minimum of one volleyball game once per day. So if you partnered on the first day, you will play one volleyball game on every odd numbered day. If you partnered on day 2, you will pay one volleyball game on every even numbered day. Day 14 ---- -- a) Give your goal swimsuit to your target girl. It is always better to wait until day 14, but if your target girl does not have a partner on day 13, she may not show up for day 14. So if you want to go for it, give the gift to her on day 13. Remember not to give your goal swimsuit to Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot or it will get tossed. b) After gifting your goal swimsuit - buy a cheap flower from the accessory shop & gift it to your target girl to see if she is wearing your goal swimsuit. c) If she is, you probably succeeded. d) If it isn't don't lose hope, there is still a chance. Finish the vacation by going to bed at the hotel. e) Once you get back to the main game menu, select exhibition mode and select your target girl. Scan her swimsuits and see if your goal suit is there. If it is, then SUCCESS! f) If not, then that might be one of the suits this method doesn't work for. OBSERVATIONS: a) If you are playing DOAX to collect swimsuits - use the suits which your target girl needs out of your collection as your gift suits (instead of buying cheap swimsuits as gifts). Just make sure that none of the suits that you are going to gift are disliked or hated suits for your target girl. b) If Ayane or Helena is your target girl or your partner, give cheap suit as a gift in every timeslot (including the morning) & in the hotel until notes are rising quickly. Then return to method as posted if using them as your target or if using as your partner, ask them to partner up - never ask to partner in the morning timeslot (returning to method as posted after partnering). c) When using Christie as your target girl or as your partner - Gift 1 cheap swimsuit in person & 1 in the hotel at night untill she has quick rising notes (as she hates to be visited more than once a day in person). Once notes are rising quickly return to the method as posted. d) Known swimsuits which this method will not work with: Kasumi's: Gerbera, Pink, Sasanqua & Lilac. e) My suggestion for you is to start with smaller dollar amount hard suits. For example: Lisa's Victoria swimsuit is cheap but is a hard suit to get onto Hitomi. ---------- ------------------------------------------ Method 3: Advanced Super Fuzzy Method Objective: To put many cheaper (maybe some of the more expensive ones) hated suits on target girl. Hypothesis: To use a simpler method to get a larger number of suits on to a target girl, by spending less money and doing less during the game but risk a higher failure rate. This is an advanced gamers variation of the Super Fuzzy Method. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: March 11, 2003 - #2717 Procedure: 1) Clear out target girl's inventory. You will need at least 20 empty boxes. 2) Start a new vacation & do not partner with the target girl. 3) Do NOT play any volleyball games against the target girl. You can do resting or pool hopping during the day. 4) Use love gifts to get target girl to level 2 fast rising notes by end of day 2 then stop giving her anything else. 5) Do not give any gifts to Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslots. 6) Do not visit Christie in person (at beach, in jungle, etc.) more than once in a day, as this will result in a loss to the relationship. 7) On day 10, start gifting her love items to get target girl back up to level 2 fast rising notes. Once she is, stop giving her gifts. 8) Stop gifting your partner from day 10 onwards. NO gifts to her. 9) On day 13 (maybe even 12 just incase she doesn't show up), personally gift her a love gift at night to check that she is still at Level 2 fast rising notes. 10) On day 13, give target girl a certified love gift in the hotel this evening. It is very important that the notes must be Fast Rising Level 2 or you will get the target suit tossed. 11) Find the target girl in person on day #14 (on beach, in jungle, etc.) & personally give your target swimsuit. 12) Follow up if possible, by finding the target girl in the next available time slot. Gift her with a cheap flower (or a love item if you want) from the accessory shop to chec k and see if target girl is wearing the target suit. 13) If girl is not wearing the suit or if you are unable to give her a follow up gift - finish out the day. The vacation ends. 14) Go to the exhibition mode. Check to see if the target girl has the option of wearing the target suit in exhibition mode - if yes, then the suit was accepted. SUCCESS!!!! Observations: Your success on my advanced method will come down to 3 major parts: 1) Your ability to spot Level 2 Fast rising notes. More on this topic is in the glossary. Get good at recognizing it, and you will massively increase your hard swimsuit acceptance. 2) The love list that you use. Since so many FAQs and lists have been made, there is some inconsistencies. So check to make sure your items are certified love items and not some borderline love/like items. See short list in the glossary. 3) Target girl has to be available on day #14. Remember not to gift Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot. Questions & Answers & Theories: 1) Target girl didn't show up much? If you have to bring them up to level 2 fast rising notes late in the game, then it might be too late to execute this method. 2) Can you have more than 1 target girl? Yes, in theory. There have been reports that people have been able to gift 3 different target girls with different suits on day 14 and have them all kept. How ever, since gifts to Kasumi will affect the mood of Ayane (and visa versa), it is probably a good idea not to have these 2 girls as simultaneous targets. So as long as the multiple targets aren't rivals of each other, it theoretically should work. *** end of method --------- ------------- Method 4: Fuzzy's Revised Cheaper/Faster Method Objective: To put ANY swimsuit on to any girl. Hypothesis: A hybrid of the 2 best methods combined in order to speed up the Golden Method with some techniques from the Advanced method. This will also make it cheaper to complete your objective with a high level of suit acceptance. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: March 14, 2003 #2605 Procedure: IMPORTANT - SAVING THE GAME AT ANY POINT WILL RESET THE GLITCH & RENDER PLAN "B" USELESS - DO NOT SAVE THE GAME UNTILL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR TARGET SWIMSUIT!!! I. SET UP: ---------- As an example of the scenario, we will be using Lisa since she is the only one that can buy the Venus, and Hitomi as our reluctant target. So in this method, Lisa IS the target gift giver. Hitomi IS the target receiver girl. You can replace Lisa and Hitomi's names with who ever you are working to make things easier if you like. I will also label our target gift girl as GIRL A and our target receiver girl is labelled GIRL B. (thus LISA is GIRL A and Hitomi is GIRL B.) If you still don't get it, replace all (GIRL A) with BUYER and replace all (GIRL B) with TARGET. But then again, I did set this up as a Microsoft word document so you can always just use the Find and Replace function in that to replace it with what ever you want. So if you are really bored, you find and replace all GIRL A with STALKER, and GIRL B with VICTIM. a) Setting up the giver of your goal swimsuit: GIRL A ------------------------------------------------------ - First you will have to purchase 12 love items (14 if using a hard target) to eventually give to your target receiver girl (GIRL B). If you feel confident that you will be able to purchase some of these in your main vacation, then you will only need 8 love items in advance and then buy the other 4 during the vacation. (see glossary below for known love items) - Purchase 3 of the same goal swimsuits (example: 3 Venus's) You may buy these before or during your main vacation - it's up to you but chances are the sport shop might not have your goal suit for sale during your one vacation. b) Setting up your target girl (receiver of the goal swimsuit): GIRL B: -------------------------------------------------------- - Empty 20 inventory squares - buy 9 love items to eventually give to your gift giver girl [GIRL A] (in case you need to go to plan B) II. Procedure: ----------------- Day 1 -- ---- f) Start a new vacation as the gift giving girl, GIRL A. g) Turn down the offer for an Island tour. You can accept the offer as long as Lisa is not your receiver girl (GIRL B) or Tina is not your receiver girl (GIRL B) when you are playing as Lisa as your gift giving girl (GIRL A). h) Do not partner with your target girl (GIRL B) but you do need a partner to play volleyball with. Try to pick a girl who already likes you since you need a partner for volleyball by day 2. Lets call your partner (GIRL C), most likely will be Lisa as long as Lisa is not your receiver girl (GIRL B). If you playing as Lisa as the gift giver (GIRL A), then Tina can be your partner (GIRL C) as long as she is not your intended gift receiver (GIRL B) as well. i) Purchase cheap suits to your intended partner (GIRL C) (relationship result is close to giving a love gift). You can give love items if you want. Nail polish is surprisingly effective. Day 2 to Day 7 ------------- - d) Do what ever you want. e) Buy love items for your target girl (GIRL B) if you need to. DAY 8: ------- a) Do what ever you want for the morning and daytime slots. b) Give your target girl (GIRL B) 1 love gift in person (on beach, in jungle, etc.) Day 9 --- ---- a) Do whatever you want for the morning and daytime slots. b) Give your target girl (GIRL B) 1 love gift in person (on beach, in jungle, etc.) Day 10 -------- ---- a) Start looking for your target girl (GIRL B) and give her your goal swimsuit (1st of the 3 you bought) - Do not gift Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot or the suit will be tossed. b) Doesn't matter if you have a partner or not. c) You must NOT give any other gift other than your target suit from this point on to ANYONE, even your target receiver girl (GIRL B) from this point onwards. See exception about re-gifting below. d) If recipient girl (GIRL B) says "no thank you" while gifting in person, she will give it back to you UNOPENED. If this happens, just give it to her again in the next available timeslot. h) Look for the trashed swimsuit message at the hotel. If there is no trashed message - the suit was accepted. SUCCESS!!!! You can stop now, as plan B is not needed. i) If there is a trashed message then you will start counting trashed suits. This is trashed suit #1. Day 11 --- --- a) Same as day 10. Start looking for your target girl (GIRL B) and give her your goal swimsuit (2nd of the 3 you bought) - Do not gift Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot or the suit will be tossed. b) If recipient girl (GIRL B) says "no thank you" while gifting in person, she will give it back to you UNOPENED. If this happens, just give it to her again in the next available timeslot. c) Look for the trashed swimsuit message at the hotel. If there is no trashed message - the suit was accepted. SUCCESS!!!! You can stop now, as plan B is not needed. d) If there is a trashed message then you will add one to the count of trashed suits. This is trashed suit #2. Day 12 --- --- a) Same as day 10. Start looking for your target girl (GIRL B) and give her your goal swimsuit (3nd of the 3 you bought) - Do not gift Ayane or Helena in the morning timeslot or the suit will be tossed. b) If recipient girl (GIRL B) says "no thank you" while gifting in person, she will give it back to you UNOPENED. If this happens, just give it to her again in the next available timeslot. c) Look for the trashed swimsuit message at the hotel. If there is no trashed message - the suit was accepted. SUCCESS!!!! You can stop now, as plan B is not needed. d) If there is a trashed message then you will add one to the count of trashed suits. This is trashed suit #3. Day 13 --- --- a) If you have counted 3 trashed suits you can rest or pool hop all day today. b) If you don't have 3 trashed suits, then repeat steps in day 12 again: Start looking for your target girl (GIRL B) and give her your goal swimsuit (3nd of the 3 you bought). If you need to buy a 4th suit, do so. c) If recipient girl (GIRL B) says "no thank you" while gifting in person, she will give it back to you UNOPENED. If this happens, just give it to her again in the next available timeslot. d) Look for the trashed swimsuit message at the hotel. If there is no trashed message - the suit was accepted. SUCCESS!!!! You can stop now, as plan B is not needed. e) If there is a trashed message then you will add one to the count of trashed suits. You should have 3 trashed suits now. Three of your target swimsuits must be given on 3 separate days & those 3 swimsuits must be trashed on 3 separate days in order for Plan B to work. Day 14 --- --- a) If you counted only 1 trashed suit, restart this method all over again since the chances of Plan B working is probably 15% at best. b) If you counted only 2 trashed suits, restart this method all over again since chances of plan B working is only 30% at best. You can try and buy her another target suit and gift it to her today if you want to try a last ditch effort. c) Pool hop or rest all time slots today. d) At the hotel, clean out your inventory, you need at least 12 empty slots. e) Go to bed at the hotel. f) Go to exhibition mode, pick your target girl (GIRL B) and scan through the suits available. If you see your target suit, SUCCESS!!! You can stop now, Plan B is not needed. g) Press the back button to back out of the exhibition mode. You do NOT want to play an exhibition game as this will reset the loop in this. h) Proceed on to Plan B. PLAN B: ---------- Vacation 2 : Day 1 - ----------------- a) Start next vacation as your target girl (GIRL B) & TURN DOWN THE ISLAND TOUR. Even if your previous gift gifting girl (GIRL A) is Lisa or Tina, Turn down the tour! g) Find your original gift giver girl (the girl who you just played as previously) [GIRL A] on the beach & give a love item (one of the 9 which you had bought previously). h) Give as many love items as is necessary to get your original gift giving girl (GIRL A) to fast rising music notes (may take more than 1 day depending on the girls that you have chosen). If she doesn't show up in person for you to give the gift to, resort to giving a gift at the hotel. i) Ask your original gift giving girl (GIRL A) to partner with you. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU PARTNERED IN THE EVENING TIMESLOT - YOU MUST PLAY 3 DAYS OF V-BALL INSTEAD OF THE 2 LISTED BELOW & GIVE LOVE GIFTS DURING EACH OF THESE EVENINGS AS WELL AS THE ONE YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN. j) Win all available volleyball games this day & give a love gift to your original gift giving girl (now your partner) [GIRL A] in the hotel. k) Clear out your inventory - transfer what you are missing into your collection & throw the rest out. You will need the space to receive suits with. Vacation 2 : Day 2 -------------------- a) If your previous gift giving girl (GIRL A) is not at fast rising notes and not partnered up yet, then continue giving love items personally. You have to have to be her partner by the third evening slot today so you begin playing 2 games of volleyball per day starting with day 3. b) If you are already partnered from day one, then win 2 games of volleyball (morning & daytime). Begin to count the number days where you played 2 volleyball games. This is number 1. e) Do the pool hop for the third time slot. f) Give love gift to your original gift giving girl (who is now your partner) [GIRL A] at the hotel. Vacation 2 : Day 3 ---- ------------- a) You must be partnered with your previous gift giving girl (GIRL A). If not, start all over again. b) Play and win 2 games of volleyball (morning & daytime). Add 1 to your to count the number days where you played 2 volleyball games. c) Do the pool hop for the third time slot. d) Give love gift to your original gift giving girl (who is now your partner) [GIRL A] at the hotel. Vacation 2: Day 4 ---------------- -- a) If you partnered in day 1, you will have played and counted 2 straight days of volleyball. Proceed on to the steps outlined on Day 6. b) Play and win 2 games of volleyball (morning & daytime). Add 1 to your to count the number days where you played 2 volleyball games. c) Do the pool hop for the third time slot. d) Give love gift to your original gift giving girl (who is now your partner) [GIRL A] at the hotel. Vacation 2: Day 5 ---------------- -- a) If you partnered in day 2 in the morning or daytime slot, you will played and counted 2 straight days of volleyball. Proceed on to the steps outlined on Day 6. b) Play and win 2 games of volleyball (morning & daytime). Add 1 to your to count the number days where you played 2 volleyball games. c) Do the pool hop for the third time slot. d) Give love gift to your original gift giving girl (who is now your partner) [GIRL A] at the hotel. Vacation 2 : Day 6 --------- -------------- a) This might not actually be day 6 depending on when you partnered but you did play at least 2 straight days of volleyball where you played volleyball in the morning and daytime and rested during the evening. b) REST at the pool in all timeslots today. Don't give any gifts to anyone, and no gifts to your partner. i) IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DO NOT EVEN MOVE OFF OF THE PICTURE OF THE POOL, AS THIS WILL RESET THIS GLITCH. (ON DAY 4 WHEN ZACK'S OPENS - GO TO THE POOL & DO AS STATED ABOVE - DO NOT ENTER ZACK'S OR THE GLITCH WILL RESET, ALSO DO NOT GO TO THE CASINO AT NIGHT OR THE GLITCH WILL RESET. j) Do NOT pool hop! You MUST select rest to force your partner to start giving you swimsuits. This is known as the "The Glitch", "The Loop Hole", etc... k) You can skip the resting movie by pressing your "a" button. l) At nighttime, you may receive your suit that was trashed three times in vacation 1. m) Your target swimsuit may not be your first gift received nor does it have to be the first swimsuit received n) If you don't receive your target suit, continue resting for the next few days until you get it. Don't worry if it isn't the first or second or even the third suit she gives you. Just stick to the plan and rest. o) Don't give any gifts to your partner [GIRL A] (in this Plan B) beyond the 3 days of volleyball playing or you will be negatively affecting your outcome. The reason is that (with the exception being Kasumi's fortune telling garbage) once your partner really likes you, if you stop giving her gifts she will believe that you are looking elsewhere for a new partner & will begin giving you gifts to keep you - by giving her gifts after this period of 3 volleyball days, you are saying "Please stay my partner - I need you" - & thus negatively affecting the gifts which she would have given to you if she believed that you did not need her. p) Repeat procedure listed under Day 6 till the end of the vacation or until you get gifted your target suit. q) *** End of Procedure Observations: a) Ayane or Helena as a target or a partner: Give a gift (love gift if target or cheap swimsuit if partnering with) in every timeslot (including the morning) & in the hotel untill notes are rising quickly. If using one of them as your target, return to the method as posted above or if using as your partner, ask them to partner up - never ask to partner in the morning timeslot (return to method as posted above after partnering). b) Christie: When using Christie as your target girl or as your partner - Give 1 gift in person ( Love gift if she is your target or a cheap swimsuit if she is going to be your partner) & 1 gift in the hotel at night until she has quick rising notes (she hates to be visited more than once a day in person). Once notes are rising quickly return to the method as posted or ask to partner up & then return to method as posted. c) Always wear any gift that your target girl gives you - after wearing it for one day, you can take it off and add it to your collection. DO NOT trash it, wait until THIS vacation is over and do it in other vacation. d) Enigma : Some gamers are having problems with gifted suits being returned to them at night at the hotel. This enigma is a rare occurance but if it happens to you, here is what you do. i) Start method over again. ii) Switch back to my other method iii) Buy another suit and gift her that one iv) I have read of this happening to gamers using other methods as well - except that they would have 2 or 3 gifts returned in a night & the solution posted for them was - "oh well". I believe that a girl will only return your gift if she really, really hates you - so you will notice that this will only occur with certain girls. HERE IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR THE "ENIGMA" - for these girls I would buy a few extra gifts & start giving them for days 8 & 9 in the hotel - thus anything that they would return will get returned on these days instead. Otherwise, from here, follow the rest of the method as printed (I CAN NOT SEE THIS NOT WORKING TO TAKE CARE OF THE ENIGMA). Remember that this will only be used for the few girls that the enigma shows up for - otherwise stick to my method as it is (so you can save money & time). Questions & Answers & Theories: a) How do I increase my chances of getting a partner? Give as many gifts as is neccessary to get partnered up (on beach & in hotel if needed - you should always give at least one gift before partnering up - even if it is not needed to secure the partnership). b) I fell behind in my suit giving. Can I gift 2 of the target suits in one day? What about giving at the hotel? No, has to be 3 suits on 3 separate days with 3 trashed messages. Never give the target suit at the hotel, do it in person. c) Resting at the pool is boring, can I pool hop to make some quick money? TOO BAD if it is boring. Pool hopping reduces your chances of plan B down about 25%. Do it at your own risk. d) I think the game recognizes when you are concentrating too much on a girl, and makes it intentionally harder. As you progress through the game, I did notice that game getting harder. Not just in volleyball play but also finding the love items at Zack's Shop. For you to reset this loop, play the game as one or two other girls for at least 2 separate vacations. Remember to play all 14 days of the vacation and do not use or partner with or buy any items of the girl you want to reset. So like our example we had where you are using Lisa to plant the Venus on Hitomi. If you find Lisa's books or Hitomi's recipes a little hard to find at Zack's. Well, trying playing Kasumi and LeiFang for a few games. They'll need the money to buy stuff eventually anyways... The other thing it might do is make it rarer for you to see your target girl. This as only happened to me with Lisa and Christie but I can see it happening with any girl that gets TOO much attention. To fix it, just play the game as someone else for a few games to reset the loop. --------- Method 5: Christmas Everyday Method Objective: A fast way to start building a girl's collection of suits by getting all the girls to start gifting you swimsuits. Hypothesis: To get all the girls to start gifting you presents thus speeding up building your collection. Should work for a lot of the neutral and like suits. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: May 11, 2003 Procedure: 1) Prepare your target girl by having 4 of love/like/swimsuits items for each of the other girls. 2) End the vacation. 3) Restart as your target girl. 4) Gift EVERY girl for the first 4 nights at the hotel (5 nights with harder targets; Christie as an example). Love items are always best - keep in mind that certain girls will toss your first 2 gifts - so it's generally a good idea to use cheaper gifts for your first & second gifts. If your ultimate DOAx goal is to complete every girl's collection, then gift 4 like/neutral swimsuits to every girl on the first 4 days. 5) Rest at the pool for every timeslot starting day 5 or 6. No pool hopping, and no volleyball. 6) This will make most girls in the game gift you various swimsuits at night for the next 9 days. It is extremely boring but will net you an average of 15 to 30 swimsuits per vacation. *** end of method Method 6: Stuff It Down Her Throat Method Objective: Make a girl accept a disliked suit. Hypothesis: If you give a suit enough times she will eventually get sick of you and accept it out of malice. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: Jun 03, 2003 Procedure: 1) Keep giving the target girl your target suit until she takes it. If she trash it, which she will many times, keep giving it to them. 2) The reason for additional suit gifting in Plan A in the Golden Method , is that I found that any swimsuit would be accepted within 5 attempts but Plan B only ever needed 3 in order to be successful - so I lowered the number to 3 as Plan B has a 90% success rate when followed correctly & even if Plan B does not work 10% of the time, a gamer would be far better off in the long run by not having to buy 5 of each suit & always being successful. 3) You don't have to worry about FRNs, or playing volleyball. However, experience seems to be based off of save game data so even 7 of the same suit might be needed. 4) As you can guess, this is an expensive and not very effective method, but it can be used as a variation to the Golden Method. *** end of method Method 7: It Isn't Zack Bad of a Method Objective: Make a girl accept a disliked suit. Hypothesis: If the target girl is so sad to accept the hated Zack Statue, then she must be sad enough to accept a hated suit. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: Mar 21, 2003 Procedure: 1) Get some rising notes on the target girl by giving presents. 2) Gift the target girl the Zack statue as a gift. If she KEEPS the statue then proceed with the next step. If not go back to step 1. 3) Gift her in the next timeslot, your target suit. Even though she will probably be at zero notes, there is a reasonable chance she will accept it. OBSERVATIONS: 1) I found that Zack statues became hard to come by & have since dropped experimenting with this. If you are going to try this I would suggest buying a few Zack figures beforehand in case this works for you as well. 2) I have had more Zack figures tossed (is that a bad thing? Har har!) than I had swimsuits accepted, so it is an expensive pretest - but worth it when one gets accepted as you know your swimsuit will be accepted as well. 3) When I was gathering gifting info using this idea I always gifted the suit in the very next timeslot & had never gotten one trashed if the figure was kept. This was tried less than 10 times but never with any failures (as long as the figure was kept). 4) This is still an experimental transfer technique, but I will list it as an oddity for others to do some more research on. *** end of method ----- -------------------- Method 8: Advanced L3FRN Method Objective: Make a girl accept a number of hated suits. Hypothesis: If the target girl is at Level 3 Fast Rising Notes (L3FRN), then there is a very good chance to have her accept a disliked suit. This is a core version of the Advanced Gamers Version of the Super Fuzzy Method. Author: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy Original Post: Aug 24, 2003 Procedure: 1) Through various gift giving and playing volleyball, raise the target girl's FRN to level 3. 2) Once L3FRN is identified, wait till the NEXT day, gift her the first target suit. 3) You must be able to spot when you reach L3FRN because if you gift her another love item instead of your target suit, the FRN will drop back down to L2FRN. 4) If you are able to raise her to L3FRN again in the same vacation, you can gift her the second hated suit, the SAME day that you reached L3FRN. 5) If you are able to raise her to L3FRN again in the same vacation, you can gift her the third hated suit, the SAME day that you reached L3FRN. OBSERVATIONS: 1) Plan A of the Golden Method is only 20% to 30% effective at best. It will become 100% effective once you can spot Level 3 notes. You must always set up to use Plan B & go to it if Plan A fails - Plan B is 90% effective if followed as posted. 2) The first time I completed all the girls collections (all suits, items & accessories), took 347 hours. The second time took roughly one hundred less hours. The first time I played as one girl & stayed partnered (alternating) with someone until both had all of each others collections. The second time I mixed it up so that it would not be as monotonous. The key the second time was that I had figured out the Level 3 notes & went through all of the collecting a lot faster. 3) The only factor in this method is the skill of identifying L3FRNs. It is not easy and it is difficult to explain in words and even difficult to show in pictures. Should I even care? I do not even use like items (at any point) as they will hardly ever get you to level 2 fast rising notes. If they are gifted after day 2 or 3 will actually wreck your chances of getting to level 2 fast notes in the vacation. b) Is this list a complete set of love items? No, this list is not complete (as to the items that I use) but, I do not have the time required to put a list together (checking this list took me over an hour). There are most probably be more items but these items work so I will leave it at that. c) Some of the love items list are less than the 12 that is needed in the FAQ. Is it bad to gift the same present twice? No. You can gift the same item as many times as you want & not take a hit from it. The game just recognizes the type of gift given not the actual item itself. I've gotten to level 2 fast rising notes by only gifting nail polish to Lisa & Christie. Theorum 1: Fast Rising Notes (FRNs) Author: King Of Smut '95 References: Fuzzy Fuzzypuppy History: I suppose like most things in the early stages, we tend to make premature hypothesis on something and end up being wrong in the end but we keep holding on to many of the principles and the names. I mean, we still refer to aliens as LGMs (Little Green Men), and really; Are they little? Are they green? Heck, are they even men? FRN's are simply the notes that rise above the girl's head as they are speaking to you in this game. The way and the speed they float up above their head is an indicator of how much they like you. I suppose someone could have named it the Floating Love Meter (FLM) or Musical Love Scale (MLS) or Hot Lesbian Loving (HLL). But as one of the long time pioneers at playing this game, Fuzzy, he decided FRN was an accurate enough description of what the notes did. So since then, he and the rest of us newbies, have been referring to this phenomenon as FRNs. Definition: A graphical representation of how much a target character feels towards your character you are playing by using floating rising music notes as graphical icons. Observed behavior: We have established that the wise guys at Team Ninja decided to use this clever graphical scale which we named the FRN to measure love levels. So it stands to reason, that there are different distinct levels that these notes rise to correspond to the love level that the character is at. 0) Level 0 : No notes at all. She is neutral towards you or she could possibly hate your guts. 1) Level 1 slow : One note slowly floating upwards. It will be rising at a rate around 1 note/sec. She obviously likes you a little bit. Either that she just tolerates you. If you want to have anything to do with her, you might want to pass a good gift to her so butter (bribe) her up a bit. 2) Level 1 fast : Two notes rising quickly. The note speed is about 2 notes/sec. Partnering up with the girl is probably possible at this point. + 2 notes rising quickly - are followed by - + 2 notes rising quickly in a side to side motion - which are followed by - + the bottom of one note, touching the top of the next note, with no space in between (looks like 3 notes rising quickly) - This is what I call Level 2 Fast Rising Notes (which upon reflection, I should have named them level 3 rising notes for simplicity's sake - but there is a level above this level which I currently call level 3). 3) Level 2 slow: Quite a bit of horizontal movement but notes are rising like Level 1 fast. You can probably getaway with tossing a disliked suit to her at this point. 4) Level 2 fast: Notes are rising obscene rate. The bottom of the notes will be touching the next note under it in a steady stream with no breaks. Kinda looks like 3 notes rising instead of 2 notes. It is at this point you can start tossing the hard hated suits at her and you stand a good chance she will take it (much to her dismay...) 5) Level 3: no data yet. have never seen L.2.F.R.N.'s prior to day 5 in a regular vacation game. In my completed game I get these notes instantly (without having to do anything). So there may be a connection between easier note gain with each & every girls completed collection - this is just a theory, I have not proven it to be fact as of yet. The best way to get to L.2.F.R.N.'s is to play v-ball atleast once every day & to gift your target girl in person everyday that she is available. Remember that gifting your target from the hotel will hamper your quest. Also I have found that L.2.F.R.N.'s will only stay active for 1 day after achieving them - meaning that if you miss your window of opportuninty, you will have to build them back up again. I believe that Leviathan is currently working on putting the diffrerent note levels on a video clip (including L.2.F.R.N.'s & the newly discovered Level 3 notes). As far as a girl not showing up for multiple days; my experience is that the game does this when a large focus is put onto one girl - change targets & giver for one vacation & this will be fixed. Lastly, once you have seen the proper note level, you will be able to spot them almost instantly. There are many gamers who are now batting 100% on L.2.F.R.N.'s - so keep looking. I think that the reason that you have not spotted them is because you have mixed one of my other Methods with my Golden Method - if you go back to the start of this thread & re-read my Golden Method, you will notice what I mean. The challenge that occurs is when your target girl does not appear the next day - then you will spend an additional day to raise her back to L.2.F.R.N.'s (1 or 2 gifts should do it) & never gift your target from the hotel during this as it lowers your note speed & will stop you from achieving Level 2's. + Accepting the Island Tour resets the relationships (approx. 90% will reset). This is very damaging to your transfer attempts. For this reason it is a great idea to always turn down the tour. Most gamers cannot spot the difference, so the 10th day is the first day that you can gift on to successfully set up for Plan B. ------------------------------------------------------------- l.i.t.e. : --------- In my oipinion Kasumi is the worst girl in DOAX to gift to!!! Reason being that she does her "fortune telling" every evening & chooses whether or not to like you the next day - so reguardless of all the relationship building, v-ball playing & smart gifting that you've done, her "fortune telling" can destroy your transfer attempt, making her the hardest to gift to. On a positive note, Kasumi's "fortune telling" can also put her into a high acceptabillity state where she will accept any swimsuit reguardless of any note level (I am currently nailing down a way to tell when she is in this state & will post my finding soon). If your goal is to get to L.3.F.R.N.'s (formerly known as L.2.F.R.N.'s) then it is important to keep playing v-ball & to not gift from the hotel. I believe that your note droppage is because of you not playing v-ball for those couple of days. Only stop playing v-ball after your first goal swimsuit is trashed & it is obvious that you must resort to Plan B. Here are a few pointers on what you've posted: + Do not gift Kasumi anything strawberry as these gifts vary with mood + Birthstones also vary with mood - so in my opinion, never gift birthstones unless she really likes you & you are winning in V-ball + Remove the pink teddybear from Kasumi's love list (it is a L.2.F.R.N. killer!!!) + Remove white origami from your love list of Kasumi + Unlike popular belief, do not gift Kasumi pink items as these will kill your chances of getting to L.2.F.R.N.'s (the only exception being nailpolish, but even pink nailpolish is a gamble) My belief on your unsuccessful attempts is that your love list has other gifts which are not actual love items & thus your transfer attempts are being foiled because of the list that you are using. If you are having trouble making money in DOAX read on. Below are some of my suggestions to help you in the ZACK BUCKS department. Please note; these tips are to help you make money in order to purchase the swimsuits needed - most of the tips below are not to be used when implementing my Plan A or Plan B - again these are intended to help increase your winning & money making & are not transfer related. #1 - Here is what I call the easy millions method because I average 3 million $ an hour doing this: Play as the character you want to make the money with & accept the island tour. This will put opponents on easy - you will win 7/0 most of the time. Play 3 to 4 days to make a million$ & leave the island. Start with same player again & accept island tour - repeat as before. After you win 7 to 0 enough times the game will advance all competitors to the hardest level after your first night - when this happens leave the island after day 2. Start as any other character & accept the island tour. Play for 3 days as before - this will reset the players attitudes toward your original character. Leave the island & restart with original character, accepting the island tour - and continuing as above. Do this as much as is neccessary untill you reach your goal. #2 - Pick on 1 girl when playing no matter who she teams up with - if you continue to beat her she will start sending you swimsuits to get you on her team (thus no need to buy gifts for her to recieve swimsuits from her). #3 - Play 2 games of volleyball & pool hop once per every vacation day. This will keep your speed & strength always up. #4 - Change swimsuits at night & match the 4 acc to them - this will give you a boost in performance. If the suits & acc's are in your players favorite color you will get an additional boost. #5 - If you lose to a team, keep playing them as 3 loses will lower them one level of confidence (also works on individual players as well). The opposite is also true - beat them 3 times & they will go up a level of confidence. #6 - If your partner drops in confidence you can get it back by winning or by not playing (pool hopping instead to earn $) & giving her love gifts at the hotel - resume playing volleyball after she has regained all of her confidence. #7 - Newby tip - when opponent blocks use the feint instead of trying to spike through the block - the feint can not be blocked. #8 - Never let your partner spike or block the ball - always put your partner in the back court & send the ball over the net instead of setting your partner up for the spike. #9 - Never block!!! Blocking leads to useless & costly points being scored against you. Applications of FRN's: a) Get good at identifying the level 2 fast rising notes, as these are the key to hard swimsuit acceptance. Master this & you will no longer need anyone's help in this game!!!! b) You can gift any hard suit & have it accepted the day after level 2 fast rising notes are spotted. I look forward to learning some tips from other gamers as I truly am a student of this game. #8 - If you are playing the game to collect everything, do not waste money on buying yourself any items other than the volleyballs, as most items will be given to you as gifts (saving you alot of $) posted by aahz: A few additional tips: 1- Calibrate your controller so the A button slider is as far as it will go to the left. That way, you will get a lot more nice serves and nice spikes without killing your thumb. If you use tip 1, use a light tap on B to tip the ball over the block. 3- As someone said, holding the thumbstick to the left aims the spike closer to the net. Do that when the opponent in front of you is covering the back court. 4- Hold the thumbstick to the right when spiking to spike over the player covering the net (but not blocking). 5- You can hold the thumbstick diagonally to aim the spike towards the sides of the court and closer to or away form the net. 6- Always use the jump serve. You can aim the ball while serving the same way you aim a spike. 7- Choose a "target opponent" and keep beating her team. Kasumi is a good choice, because, when she is not very happy, she lets a lot of ball drop. You will notice she will change teammate every day and never be any good, even though her picture will show her as confident. 8- At the beginning of a vacation, it is not enough to win all the games, you must not make any errors. You are in trouble if your teammate starts commenting on your mistakes, e.g. "No biggie"(Lisa), "Ah, man..." (Leifang), "I can't believe you" (Hitomi?), etc. You won't get anymore "nice" points. And even if you win, your teammate will no longer like you as much. That's when you need to give her a gift at night. After a few days, mistakes don't seem to matter, so long as you win. 9- Do not spike a block that has been properly set. You will notice the player coming forward early when she is going to block. You should the tip the ball (hold the thumbstick to the left and hit early so you get a better chance of the ball falling right behind the block). If the block is not right in front of you, you can spike it at an angle towards the side that is not covered. 10- The spike timing is not the same for all girls. You need to hit the ball a lot earlier with Christie, for instance, than with Ayane to get a nice spike. 11- The more powerful spikers are not as good at tipping the ball. They seem to have less control. 12- When passing the ball for a spike, aim away from the block. Try a high pass behind your back. If you do it right, your teammate will spike into an empty court. Lisa sometimes calls a "nice toss" (that's what it sounds like to me, anyway) and really whacks the ball. 13- As for the hopping game, eating and changing swimsuits every day, I haven't noticed any effect. And I haven't lost a game in ages. 14- This is not a volleyball playing tip, but it is something I have noticed. If a player starts to wear only one swimsuit (it is usually a girl to whom you have been giving a lot of gifts), then her inventory is full of duplicate items. It seems that, if you give a girl items she likes, she will never discard them, even if she has ten of them. Since she cannot put them in the collection, she keeps accumulating them in her inventory, taking away space for other items, such as swimsuits. Posted by Omnipotent 1) Shoes- make sure you own a pair of sandals and tennis shoes. Wear the tennis shoes in the forest games & the sandals for the beach games. u will move better & jump higher 2) Calibration. I always put the calibration all the way on low, which makes even just the slightest tap a full spike. Use the other button to "tap" it over if the other team is about to block. As long as you are in the air, pushing the pass button will not pass but tap it over the net. 3) when spiking, I try to switch directions of the spike at the very last second. this takes some practice but is very effective. 4) Music- if you haven't figured out how easy it is to put your own music in the game, here's a clue. Copy 10 or so (at least) of your favorite CD's on the xbox hard drive by simply putting the cd's in the xbox & turning the xbox on. one of the options will be to copy the music. then go to the radio station. you can have a different playlist for morning noon & night. 5) the pool hopping game is boring, avoid at all costs. 6) Ignore anyone's "sure-fire" gambling tips. Xbox uses a random number generator in their casino games. Techno-shine posts: Blackjack info, not counting "doaxvb special/erroneous rule": house odds approximately -.18 or -.20 example: 100,000 every hand, 150 games per hour, basic strategy w/o special rule. Over LONG TERM, you will average out to only 27000-30000/hr! I haven't calculated the 'adjusted' odds for DOAXVB's special/secret/erroneous deviation, but they are somewhat better. When Playing Volleyball, press the Right Thumb Stick Left(Back) to keep your CPU Partner away from the net. They block way too much and usually mess up the block causing you to loose money that could have been yours. Even when you go for a serve, press the Right Stick Back as soon as you hit the ball, and head toward the front. You can recieve and pass it back to your CPU Partner and if she isn't pissed at you, she will pass it foward to you for your chance at either a spike or a tap. Tap it everytime you see the oppoentent bend their knees for a jump as they will go for a block. Just hold Left (back) on the Left Thumb stick when you tap it so that it doesn't go flying mid playfield where the other opponent can catch it. Try using Down Back or Up-Back for different landing shots toward their playfield that is out of reach. Boza911 During a match, direct your serve towards the weaker opponent. (Think Kasumi/Tina team) Kasumi then passes the ball to Tina, who then sets the ball for Kasumi to spike. This method eliminates most knock downs, with the occasional high technique character able to knock my character down. If Kasumi sets the serve and Tina takes a back-court spike, there is a higher probability that the ball will be net bound.
